Yarloop, Cookernup and Hamel are towns in WA’s beautiful south west region, but some of the locals say where they live is making them sick. They all live within 10km of Alcoa’s Alumina refinery in Wagerup.
The approval means Alcoa can nearly double production at their Wagerup Refinery starting 2008, 4.7 million tonne of alumina will be processed on this site.
